Juniper Sawfeather is the teen daughter of environmental activists.
When she helps her father document damage at a reported oil spill, she
discovers three mermaids washed up on the beach covered with oil. In her
efforts to rescue the mermaids, she soon finds herself in the middle of
a struggle between her parents, the media, a marine biologist (and his
handsome young intern), the popular clique at school, and the oil
company over the fate of the mermaids. Can she protect them from being
exploited? Or killed?
